Scheduled Power Outage 12/04/2020

Dear Residents of Spinnaker Bay,

We just wanted to let everyone know that Southern California Edison has scheduled a "Critical Power Outage" this Friday, 12/04/2020, between the hours of 9am-2pm.

Here is what we know; the outage will affect 101 homes. What we don't know is exactly which homes this outage will affect (Edison would not provide this information). Some of you may have received an email or a letter in the mail regarding the outage, but some Residents being affected have not. Just in case you are one of those homes, please be prepared.

The text below has been provided by SCE regarding the scheduled outage:

We are taking this opportunity to keep you informed about critical work being performed on the electrical equipment in your area. In order to keep our crews safe, it is necessary to temporarily turn off your power so we can make repairs to the grid. Safely providing reliable service means critical outages must continue, even during this unprecedented COVID-19 situation. Postponing this critical work could inadvertently create larger and more dangerous risks. We do not take the decision to proceed with this outage lightly, and our teams are working to shorten the duration as much as possible. We appreciate your patience.

Things You Should Know

We will be performing critical work on the electrical system in your area that will cause the power to be out temporarily. We must go forward with work necessary to protect public safety including reducing wildfire risk, even during this unprecedented COVID-19 situation. While non-critical work is being postponed, delaying this critical work could inadvertently create larger and more dangerous risks. We will do our best to minimize the length of time you are without power. Due to the nature of the work, our crew members are sometimes unable to maintain physical distancing while making repairs and work together as a pod to minimize exposure with other workers. If you see our crew members in your neighborhood, please do not approach them and stay at least 6 feet away for safety. If crew members need to get in touch with you, they will call you or knock on your door. Please be assured that the safety of our workforce, our customers and the public remain our top priority.
